6 - Aug. 1976 - FN! Batgirl in "Valley of the Copper Moon!" by Elliot S. Maggin, Jose Delbo & Vince Colletta sees Congresswoman Barbara Gordon on a trip to an Indian Rodeo and discovers skulduggery and political corruption there as Batgirl. Using her masked identity, Barbara is able to find a corrupt Native American, who plans to sell the lands for his own benefit and she thwarts his ultimate plan! "The Joker's Daughter!" by Bob Rozakis, Irv Novick & Frank McLaughlin sees Robin tangles with a female "Joker" who claims to be the Joker's Daughter and who has allegedly stolen a dead mystery writer's manuscript, which was possibly never there in the first place. Despite the nonexistent crime, Robin tries to stop the Joker's daughter, but he is outstmarted and unable to capture the criminal maid! This was her very 1st apperance!! "Alfred Beagle: "In the Soup!" by Jerry Robinson & George Roussos sees Alfred (who's last name was Beagle back in the day before being changed to Pennyworth...) tired of being laughed at by Bruce and Dick for his various accidental victories over crime and this time he decides to do a proper investigation. Alfred comes across an unusual robbery---someone has stolen an entire supply of turtle soup from a gourmet factory...which he solves. but still gets heckled by Batman & Robin! "The New Crimes of the Mad Hatter!" Mad Hatter has escaped from prison and is no longer robbing rare and expensive hats, but using hats to rob. They learn that he will be after the twelve jurors whose verdict sent him to jail. And the crimes are based on the hats that the jurors would wear on their regular jobs (Fireman helmet, chef's hat, etc)! He manages to escape from the Dynamic Duo, but during an escape attempt with a balloon, Robin stymies his escape by popping the balloon with a hat pin borrowed from a nearby woman bystander bringing the crook back to the street level, where he is finally captured! by Dave Wood, Sheldon Moldoff & Charles Paris! Plus a cool Robin characters page!
8 - Dec. 1976 -VF! Robin: stars in "The Copycatgirl Capers!" by Rozakis, Novick & Colletta, as Robin tangles with Catgirl, who passes herself off as Catwoman, who Batman is tracking at the same time in Gotham! Robin then learns that Catgirl has arrived to Gotham and he confronts the young villain in one of Catwoman's hideouts. Robin and Catgirl have to team-up to defeat Catwoman's henchmen and after their enemies are down, Robin unmasks the villain and discovers that Catgirl is not Catwoman's daughter as she claimed, but instead she is Joker's Daughter in disguise!! At that moment, Batman comes from the basement of the hideout with Catwoman tied-up and the distraction created allows Joker's Daughter to escape! Batman in "The Web of the Spinner!" by Bill Finger. Sheldon Moldoff & Charles Paris finds Batman and Robin encounter a new costumed villain, the Spinner, whose metal uniform is overlaid with spinning discs, and who uses a spinning buzz-saw gun, tops, and giant fans in his arsenal of tricks. The heroes are dazzled by the reflected light of the sun from the Spinner's colored-glass fan and thus are unable to stop the gang's escape, but a slang word used by the Spinner common among Joliet Prison inmates gives Batman a clue to his identity and Batman, Robin and Batwoman go to the Swami's studio and capture the real Spinner--Swami Ymar! Batgirl: "Batgirl's Last Case!" by Frank Robbins
& Don Heck shows Barbara Gordon running for Congress but the criminal bosses in Gotham don't want the Police Commissioner's Daughter with that kind of power, so they plant explosives to kill Jim Gordon, but that fails as Batgirl saves the day and jets to Washington, D.C.!
