Each of these Bronze Age Comics is complete with all pages and each is graded! These were some fun books compiling some of Marvel’s greatest characters!
6 – June 1973 – VG! “The Dreams of Death!” by Steve Englehart & Sal Buscema shows Sinister Magician Cyrus Black trying to destroy Doctor Strange! He surrounds his house with a "force field" that only the Silver Surfer can penetrate. Inside the force field, Cyrus Black's henchmen are attacking Dr. Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum, creating havoc! With help of the Valkyrie and Prince Namor (Sub-Mariner), the Surfer and Strange defeat Cyrus Black but he manages to escape!
20 – Feb. 1975 – VG! “The Woman She Was...!” by Steve Englehart, Sal Buscema and Vince Colletta sees The Fantastic Four’s Ben Grimm, The Thing In Cobbler’s Roost, Vermont, as Valkyrie mourns the late Alvin Denton, the father of her alter ego Barbara and the only person who could explain her previous life. The Asgardian God The Executioner attacks The Thing, but Enchantress, giving up on the magic harmonica scheme, whisks him away to find a new way to conquer Asgard! Val, in her disguised form, insists on bearing Alvin’s body home and Doctor Strange in his astral form appears to Ben, asking him to keep an eye on Val because the mystery of the magic harmonica is not yet solved and she may be in danger! Dr. Strange and Val get kidnapped by a Sorcerer named Van Nyberg who plans on sacrificing them to a powerful Demon, but Ben and Nighthawk wade in and take them out! The Marvel Value Stamp is Modok!!
52 – Oct. 1977 – NM-! “Defender of The Realm!” by David A. Kraft, Keith Giffen and Chic Stone! Prince Namor, the Sub-Mariner, strides down Park Avenue in New York, causing great consternation among the citizenry, as no one knows his intentions! The Hulk spies him from the top of a nearby building and leaps down to offer his help, but Namor, in no mood for nonsense, swats him away and thus enraging Hulk who starts throwing punches while all witnesses flee!! In Russia, Dr. Tania Belinsky becomes the new Red Guardian in a most bizarre way! Patsy Walker, as Hellcat and Nighthawk they race to the scene as Namor shows he can discharge electricity like the eel (last done in FF #6) on The Hulk! The FF and Avengers are out of town and Peter Parker is stuck in the crowd, as the two beings pummel each other! Namor finally reveals that Radioactive leakage from Soviet underground nuclear tests has contaminated a portion of Atlantis, rendering it too dangerous to enter. Kyle suggests that Hulk could enter the contaminated zone safely and the big green guy agrees and they depart!
