c1909 Chadwick Violin Amati copy. This beautiful German vintage violin was thoroughly & professionally refurbished in 2004. The luthier charged over $500 to refurbish it. When I saw it I was stunned - absolutely gorgeous! It is constructed with a spruce top and flame maple back. Ebony fingerboard, pegs, and tailpiece. It comes with a modern hard cover case for excellent protection, rosin, pack of extra horsehair & 2 extra ebony tuning pegs. The bow has an abalone handle and is strung with quality horsehair. It says "Chadwick Violin" & "Copy of Amati" inside the sound hole. Please note that there are slight hairline cracks on the spruce top which were addressed in the refurbishment and they are stable & do not affect the structural integrity. (see picture). Also there was a repair done in 1924 in Rhinelander Wisconsin by Emery. I do not know what that repair was. I got this a gift from my mother & it's been in the family since it's beginning. My grama played it as a young girl. I don't play it & I'm looking for a good home where it will be played & appreciated for the beautiful instrument it is. It is ready to play and become an heirloom for another family's generations.
